what ‘came through the wash’ stayed with them

As Club Car Wash’s family business grew, so did a commitment shaped by moments inside pediatric hospitals. In 2025, the business pledged $100,000 to support Children’s Health℠ and its new Dallas pediatric campus.

Emeri Burgher was a teenager ringing up sales at the register when her parents opened their first drive-through car wash location about two decades ago.

Now, the Club Car Wash family business has expanded to more than 260 locations across the country, including about a dozen in North Texas. And the rapid growth has empowered the family to give back in ways most meaningful to them. And at the top of the list is pediatric health care.

Last year, Club Car Wash signed a $100,000 pledge to support Children’s Health as it builds the new Dallas pediatric campus alongside colleagues at UT Southwestern Medical Center. The new campus will expand specialized care for a growing pediatric population for generations to come.

“Hospitals have to keep evolving and changing,” said Emeri, now the executive assistant at Club Car Wash. “The new campus is important not only for the North Texas community but for the families who travel from across the country for care.”

Several years ago, Club Car Wash partnered with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals to help fundraise for local pediatric hospitals like Children’s Health.

In 2023, when the company opened its first two locations in Texas, it raised about $300 for Children’s Health. Since then, in a very short window, Club Car Wash has more than quadrupled its business and raised thousands of dollars to make an incredible difference for kids in North Texas. In 2025, the company raised more than $28,000 through point-of-sale and promotional campaigns that will go toward its pledge for the new hospital.

“Raising this money is vital for patients and their families — each little dollar truly adds up,” Emeri said. “This money goes toward a place that is making the difference for them every day.”

Emeri knows firsthand the impact pediatric hospitals like Children’s Health can have on families — it’s the reason why Club Car Wash is committed to supporting them.

When Emeri’s brother, Collin Bartels, was 3 years old, physicians diagnosed him with leukemia. Collin received expert care at a local pediatric hospital in Missouri before going into remission. He later experienced a relapse during his junior year of high school, ultimately requiring a bone marrow transplant.

And decades later, when Emeri was pregnant with her son, Landon, a sudden suspicion turned into an emergency visit to a pediatric hospital. After running some tests, physicians gave Emeri unimaginable news: They’d have to deliver her baby within the next hour.

Baby Landon was born weighing just over two pounds. He was tiny, but resilient, and after spending his first 60 days in the hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, he went home and met his older sister, Saylor.

Today, Collin is president of Club Car Wash, and Landon, now a happy and healthy 4-year-old, runs around the house playing with his sister.

Through both experiences, Emeri’s family faced the unknown, but the care and support they received from the hospital’s team members made the toughest moments a little easier.

“Our experiences helped us understand what pediatric hospitals and their foundations are doing to support families and patients,” Emeri said. “Our hope is for them to continue to provide great care and to elevate patient experiences.”
